About SMA Healthcare – Northeast Care Center – Daytona Beach
The SMA Healthcare Northeast Care Center, just northeast of the famous Daytona Speedway in Florida, is one of several sites from which SMA offers their behavioral healthcare services to the residents of Volusia County. SMA’s mission is to provide comprehensive care to all people who need mental health services, which includes assistance with alcohol and substance addictions.
To make their services as widely available as possible, SMA accepts donations and offers financial assistance to people who need it. If you feel that you need financial assistance, you can apply by following the process outlined in the billing section of their website or by asking how to apply in person. Alternatively, they also accept cash, Medicare, Florida Medicaid, and can work with private insurance carriers.
At the Northeast Care Center, they provide outpatient substance use therapy to voluntary patients and court ordered participants. Their service is available to clients as young as 12 years of age. However, adolescent clients follow a unique program that caters to their age specific needs.
Their program starts with an assessment process during which they’ll help plan the best road to recovery. From there, participants will start individual and group therapy sessions and will have access to telehealth services in those instances where they need urgent help but don’t have an appointment. SMA Healthcare is also known for their mobile crisis response teams that drive out to assist people in emergencies.
Part of the Northeast Care Center caters to people who need medically assisted treatment or other (limited) types of psychiatric medication. They also have staff who are able to help their patients manage their medication to ensure that they have the best possible chance of recovering fully.
