About Somerset House – Sodus
Somerset House is a residential addiction treatment center for women in Appleton, New York. They can hold up to 17 women at a time and operate as part of Caz Recovery. You’ll find a range of reintegration services here to help you transition from residential care into independent living.
The residence is comfortable and cozy with semi private rooms and community style living areas. During your stay you’ll attend life skills training courses that will give you the tools you need to live on your own. They’ll also help you find work, volunteer opportunities or other ways to plug into your community.
If you want to pursue educational goals they can help with that too. As you become more self sufficient you’ll also participate in individual and group counseling sessions to learn more about addiction, identify your triggers, and create a foundation for long term recovery.
When you’re ready to graduate from the program they’ll link you to local groups that can help you continue your journey. This may include outpatient clinics, primary care providers, mental health services, career counselors and other resources. I like that they recognize the personal nature of this experience and allow each client to choose their own recovery goals and peer support groups.
