Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center is a clinic in Texarkana, Arkansas that provides substance use disorder and mental health treatment. It’s conveniently located just off interstate 49 and a few minutes away from Texarkana Regional Airport. Clients can receive outpatient services and also be referred to residential treatment at a separate facility.

The facility provides community based rehabilitation services to help individuals recovering from substance use disorder be more able to independently live in the community. The staff can work with clients on improving different areas of their lives such as education, employment and housing.

Receiving addiction care on an outpatient basis allows you to continue attending school, going to work, and taking care of your daily responsibilities. You’ll also be able to enjoy activities in town, such as playing disc golf at Spring Lake Park.

Your time in counseling will focus on discovering the causes of your addiction and developing different strategies that can prevent you from relapsing. Your counselor may use evidence based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.

Clients who need more intensive or specialized services can be referred to River Ridge Treatment Center, which is a residential facility operated by Southwest Arkansas Counseling and Mental Health Center. You’ll have a full schedule of therapeutic services designed to help you make progress in overcoming addiction. In addition to residential treatment, the organization also provides a drug and alcohol safety education program at its Annex location.
