Southwest Counseling has been providing quality treatment in Rock Springs for over four decades, and they’re a known leader for behavioral health advancements.
Some notable achievements include opening the state’s first 28 day substance abuse treatment program in 1988, opening Wyoming’s first women’s addiction program in 2000, and becoming the first substance abuse center in the state to be a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center.
Clients struggling with substance abuse can take advantage of the facility’s assessments, outpatient services and intensive outpatient programs as well as their residential rehab, DUI education, and medication addiction treatment (MAT).
One standout feature of this facility is that they offer intensive outpatient treatment geared towards adolescents from 12 to 17 years old. This program is specifically crafted for young adults who are abusing or dependent on alcohol, methamphetamines, cocaine, prescription drugs or marijuana.
The nine week program meets three times a week. Group sessions focus on recovery, addiction, relapse prevention, corrective thinking, refusal skills and more.
Upon graduating this program, adolescents can take part in aftercare services that focus on preventing a relapse. This program lasts for up to three months with meetings once a week.
