About SSTAR – Fall River
SSTAR is an opioid and alcohol rehab facility located in Fall River, Massachusetts. They provide detox services and therapy to people with alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder. They serve adult patients including pregnant women. They provide inpatient and outpatient therapy as well as medication assisted treatment (MAT). All of the services they offer are voluntary.
Their acute detox services are for people who have a high amount of drugs or alcohol in their system. Nurses supervise the detox process 24 hours a day. They can administer medication if it is necessary.
You will have educational groups during detox that will teach you how to use the medications they give you and how they will help you during the process of detox. They will also teach you about any negative effects the drugs may have on your body and the danger of misusing them. If a client is pregnant, they will also consult with an obstetrician.
They have a clinical stabilization service for people who have detoxed or do not need to detox. This includes group and individual therapy. They use several different types of behavioral therapy which teach people to look at things differently in order to behave differently. They also use motivational interviewing in which a non-judgemental therapist will ask you questions designed to help you find your motivation to change.
They provide outpatient therapy at several levels. They have an intensive outpatient program (IOP) in which clients come in several times a week for treatment. If you do not need intense treatment, you can come in once or twice a week for treatment.
