About STARS Nashville TX – Recovery – Nashville
STARS Nashville TX – Recovery, a nonprofit addiction treatment provider, is a crucial part of the Nashville, Texas community. Also known as “Music City” Nashville is the birthplace of rock and roll and home to Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate. However behind the glitz and glamor Nashville is also home to many people who are less financially fortunate. Since 1984 this local organization has offered free prevention, intervention and treatment services for children and teens facing challenges like substance use, violence and trauma. The facility has earned accreditation by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and receives funding from donations and entities including the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth.
STARS helps more than 100,000 children and youth annually through multiple programs, including Youth Overcoming Drug Addiction (YODA). YODA offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for teens ages 13 to 18 with substance use and co-occurring behavioral and mental health challenges who can’t afford treatment.
YODA is a person centered and gender specific program that treats males and females separately. An IOP may be a good fit for teens who don’t need or have completed an inpatient or partial hospitalization program and have a stable living environment. They offer more structure and rigor than traditional outpatient services but allow kids to stay at home and attend school or work while undergoing treatment. IOP services include clinical assessments, case management, individual and group therapies and aftercare.
STARS also provides drug testing, drug court consultation and support for kids involved in the juvenile probation system. Additionally, the organization offers family education to help loved ones better understand and cope with addiction.
The program takes place from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday most times of the year, although the schedule may vary during summer or holiday periods. If you need or want a clinical assessment, these are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
