About Staten Island Mental Health Society – Family Support Program – Mid Island
Staten Island PPS Behavioral Health, formerly known as Staten Island Mental Health Society – Family Support Program, is a substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment facility for adults in Staten Island, New York. They use evidenced based practices to help treat your substance use disorder and mental health issues.
This facility believes in treating the whole person, physically, mentally, and emotionally. They do screenings and treatment to try to find any missed diagnosis so that targeted treatment can take place.
This facility also provides medication assisted therapy. The medication helps keep you comfortable during detox by helping with the withdrawal symptoms and it also curves the cravings, especially if your addiction is to opioids. They use medication as the first line of rehab with opioid addiction and rehabilitation. They also provide additional psychosocial therapies and support. While going through medication assisted therapy here, you are also connected to a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate that will mentor you and help keep you engaged.
