About Step 1 Inc. – Reno
Step 1 provides transitional housing in combination with outpatient for those low or no income adult men who have been diagnosed with chemical dependency. During the treatment, men receive counseling and peer mentoring. Step 1 is located at Reno, Nevada.
Step 1 is a gender specific program, treating male individuals only, who have been diagnosed with substance use dependency and want to improve their lives. Since 1993, their philosophy has been “Do the next right thing”. Residents receive individual and group counseling, and are require to obtain a job.
For those who do not qualified for sliding fee scale or do not have Medicaid or private insurance, they are expected to pay cash for counseling. The cost of a screening is $7, the initial assessment $98, individual counseling $40 monthly and for group it is $21 per week.
Residents are required to adhere to the house rules, obtain an employment, attend all the counseling sessions and 12-step meetings and must not have past or current violent and/or sexual offenders.
Step 1 offers transitional housing combined with outpatient level 1 for those men who want to continue with their recovery.
