About Stephen Center HERO Program – Omaha
The Stephen Center HERO program, located in Omaha, Nebraska, offers addiction treatment for low-income or homeless adults aged 19 and older. If you’re dealing with a substance use disorder or you’re facing mental health challenges then they provide residential and outpatient care to help you get the support you need.
Every client begins in Transition Into Programming (TIP) where they spend around 24 to 48 hours. Next is short-term residential (STR) followed by intensive outpatient treatment (IOP). After completing treatment, clients can choose to stay in a sober living environment. It’s a great way to get the extra support many people need as they continue working on recovery.
The STR program gives clients a solid start on their recovery. Most clients stay in STR for around 30 to 45 days. Weekly check-ins with counselors and case managers help keep things on track. Clients take part in four weeks of family programming as part of their treatment. Family members are encouraged to join if possible.
The IOP provides structured housing and flexible support over six to 10 weeks. Clients focus on life and recovery skills. During this phase of treatment, they can work on finding a job, attending support groups, or volunteering. After completing IOP, clients usually transition into the general outpatient (OP) program for four to six weeks.
After finishing treatment, clients can stay in a structured sober living environment for up to 90 days. To make the most of this time, clients actively work on their sobriety by participating in 12-step programs. It’s a great way to continue building a solid foundation for recovery.
Every step of treatment includes evidence-based and motivational approaches to recovery. The program includes trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and both group and individual therapy.
Many clients believe the HERO program is one of the best in Omaha. The kind and humble staff are truly dedicated to helping people overcome their challenges. If you’re ready to begin recovery then you’ll get a solid start here.
