Strategies for Change consider they are not a 12-step program. They philosophy is based in a humanistic approach which supports every individual on identifying his/her unique strengths, values and emotions to create a meaningful life. Their qualified staff utilize curriculum based on William Glasser’s Reality Therapy and Choice Theory Concepts.
Strategies for Change services include day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment and outpatient treatment in order to let the patients to return home at the end of the day.
All clients take an initial screening and assessment to be placed in an ideal modality and level of care.
Their co-occurring treatment provides 6-month treatment. Services include individual counseling and psychiatric services, medication management, group and individual sessions.
Outpatient services may include parenting skills, life skills, anger management, gender specific groups REBT ( rational emotive behavioral therapy) and Barbara Armstrong (EBP) curriculum.
They also offer a Perinatal Treatment for those women who are pregnant. During the treatment women learn how to be better mothers by learning about art, nutrition, relapse prevention and other activities.
There is also a Youth Program available for individuals ages 18-23. It utilize a Barbara Armstrong curriculum, individual and group therapy.
