About Sunrise Childrens Services – Danville
Sunrise Children’s Services offers Christ-centered support for children and families. They are a Joint Commission accredited nonprofit organization. They offer therapeutic foster care, residential treatment for youth and community-based services. Their Woodlawn Campus in Danville, Kentucky, features a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. Here, they provide 24-hour services to boys with severe emotional or behavioral problems. They accept clients from six years old up to 18. This campus is located on the border of Millennium Park in a quiet part of western Danville.
This Danville facility offers treatment for boys who require full-scope, long-term treatment but not hospitalization. I like that youth are able to continue with their education while getting onsite nursing care and psychiatric services. Residents also access individual, family and group therapy. There are also spiritual and moral growth experiences for residents as well as a variety of cultural and recreational programs.
An on-call clinician is available 24-hours a day. They also offer nutritional assessments and psychoeducational groups that cover a range of skills and behaviors. They provide specialized treatments for youth with sexual behavior concerns.
One of the wonderful programs Sunrise offers is support for youth who turn 18 and age out of state care. Sunrise provides a fully furnished apartment and pays the cost of rent and utilities. They also stock it with personal products and cleaning supplies and an initial supply of food.
Each month, participants get money for clothing, food and personal items. You can also earn money for education, cell phone bills and work support. When participants turn 21, they can transfer the lease and utilities to their name and keep the furnishings.
