About Tahoe Youth and Family Services – South Lake Tahoe
Tahoe Youth and Family Services is located in South Lake Tahoe, California. They offer counseling help with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Their certified substance abuse counselors provide strength and evidence based methods with individual and group counseling to help put you on the path to recovery. They strive to help you find your own way during the recovery process. The staff here is trained to help with interventions, prevention and outpatient services to youth and adults.
The substance abuse counseling program here consists of individual substance abuse sessions, court ordered drug and alcohol evaluations, substance abuse assessments and they have substance abuse groups for teenagers.
Their mental health counseling program has mental health assessments, individual assessments, individual mental health counseling, family counseling and counseling for school aged children.
You’ll have licensed therapists or their registered colleagues to help you with either trauma therapy, solution focussed therapy and or play therapy. They also provide family reunification services here.
They have a 24 hour crisis line for pregnant substance abusers and pregnant and non pregnant injection users, and others in need.
They only accept Nevada Medicaid at this time but it seems Californian’s can use these services by paying their private pay rates. They say they don’t accept private insurance but if you have private insurance they’ll provide you with a superbill. You can inquire within about those specifics.
They have a street outreach program that can help if you’re a runaway or homeless or otherwise on the streets. It’s for people 21 and younger and they can help with several dire situations that you might be involved with.
They also have a drop in center where you can get food, clothing and other necessities. You can take a shower or do your laundry and they help secure IDs too. They have a human trafficking prevention and awareness program as well. They strive to help with prevention and education in this area.
What I love about this treatment center is that they seem to fully grasp the need for help with mental health and substance abuse and they also have a good understanding of how important it is to fight and prevent human trafficking.
