About Talbert House ADAPT for Men & Women – Cincinnati

Talbert House ADAPT for Men and Women is a program that provides a continuum of services to men and women who are navigating recovery from substance use struggles. The ADAPT program will connect you to the best residential and outpatient services to serve your recovery needs. This program stands out from other services offered through Talbert House because they have a particular focus on helping those who are involved in the Hamilton County Drug Court.

The ADAPT Program is the result of the strong partnership between Talbert House and other residential housing and community care providers including the Central Community Health Board, First Step Home and Prospect House. Through this partnership you can also get connected to other resources in the community that can help serve you.

Many of the people who are served through this program have a drunk driving felony or other criminal charge and struggle with criminal behavior because of their substitute struggles.

Unlike a traditional residential or outpatient program, you’ll continue receiving evidence based therapies. However there’s a strong focus on helping you identify and address the specific triggers that have contributed to your criminal behavior. For example, this might mean working on mental health struggles you’re facing, trauma and other emotions that have led to your delinquent behaviors.

Often, individuals who are involved in the criminal justice system because of drug related charges struggle to find appropriate services that target the specific symptoms that have contributed to their struggles. You’ll find those services through the ADAPT program.

Each of these residential and outpatient programs has its own admission criteria and some require a referral from the courts. Others offer specialized care to target your recovery needs. For example, the Turtle Creek Center provides rehabilitation programming for adults who are sex offenders.

What I appreciate most about this program is that the people who are served through it are met with judgment free and stigma free care no matter their legal troubles. You’ll be met with the support of staff that will help you rebuild your skills for a healthier future.
