Teen Challenge – Alum Rock Women and Children’s Center offers inpatient treatment for women with alcohol or drug addiction in San Jose, California. This program is uniquely designed to support mothers who need addiction treatment and whose children also need healing.
Teen Challenge – Alum Rock Women & Children’s Center offers residential treatment.
The residential treatment program at Teen Challenge is a highly structured, long-term treatment program with a length of stay of 12 – 18 months. This program focuses on healing the addiction in addition to healing the relationship between mother and child. Time is spent getting to the root cause of the addictive cycle while learning new life skills and coping strategies. Time is also spent focusing on how to create a sustainable foundation of recovery. Socio-economic issues such as having an education and workforce readiness are also addressed so there is a higher chance of success upon graduating from the program.
Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.
Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.
