About Teen Challenge – Asbury Family Center – San Jose
Teen Challenge- Asbury Family Center is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center located in San Jose, California. This program allows husbands and wives to enter into this program together with their children so the family can stay together.
Teen Challenge- Asbury Family Center offers residential treatment.
The residential program at Asbury Family Center is focused on keeping the family unit intact while treatment is provided. The program offers clinical approaches to treatment through individual, group, and family therapy. Families partake in treatment together when it’s appropriate. The average length of this program is 12 – 18 months in length. During this time people learn practical skills, and life skills, and work through trauma and unresolved emotional issues that have perpetuated the cycle of addiction and dysfunction within the family. Education, mentoring, and spiritual guidance are provided.
Trauma is often a root cause of addiction, changing the brain and biochemistry. Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents through scientifically proven and evidence-based treatment methods that help target the nervous system’s processing centers, which help to create balance mentally, emotionally, and physically.
