About The Advocate Program – Caribbean Boulevard – Cutler Bay

Located in Cutler Bay, Florida, The Advocate Program is a not-for-profit agency that provides behavioral health services to adults suffering from mental illness and/or substance use disorder. They have been serving the community for more than 50 years and primarily work with clients who were court-ordered to participate in treatment. Some of their offerings include counseling (group and individual), intensive outpatient care and case management.

The clinic has an experienced team of professionals who have studied and been trained in a variety of areas such as anger control, psychotherapy and parenting skills.

Some of the clinic’s staff are leaders in state-wide and national organizations. The clinic’s main objective is to reduce recidivism. As a result, they prioritize keeping an open line of communication with clients’ probation officers or other supervising entities.

The Advocate Program aims to be accessible by using a sliding-scale payment method. There are also funds available to residents of Miami-Dade County who are uninsured or underinsured.

The clinic aims to be flexible by offering virtual services for Florida residents who live outside of the Miami-Dade area.

They also aim to meet clients’ needs by providing services during the evenings and on weekends in addition to normal business hours. On top of its clinical services the clinic has several other programs including a DUI school, services for veterans, services resources for housing and services that cater to families who are dealing with violence and/or other serious conflicts.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
