About The Brien Center – North Adams
The Brien Center–North County provides comprehensive mental health and dual diagnosis care for youth and adults in North Adams, Massachusetts. They offer mobile crisis response, clinical, home, and community-based care, supportive housing, and aftercare planning and support, including dedicated services for children, adolescents, young adults, pregnant and postpartum women, families, trauma survivors, and persons with co-occurring addiction and severe mental illness (SMI).
Clients may receive comprehensive, personalized care where they need it, including in the home, community, or outpatient clinic. Medical and mental health assessments, personalized care planning, and comprehensive case management are included for all clients. They also engage in intensive individual, group, and family counseling and robust, age-specific, recovery-focused life skills training addressing topics such as coping, self-care, disease and medication management, and relapse prevention. Referrals for acute inpatient care, supportive housing, and/or respite care may be provided.
Their aftercare services ensure a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs and may include housing and employment assistance, vocational and academic training, and referrals for medical, mental health, and social service programs.
The Brien Center–North County accepts private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, sliding scale payment schedules, and self-pay. Financial aid is available.
