The Guidance Center – North Vickey Street is a mental health and behavioral health center in Flagstaff, Arizona. They have services for clients of all ages including kids. Their drug and alcohol addiction treatment is for adults aged 18 and older.
If you’re struggling with substance use disorder, they have two options here. The first is their residential rehab for adults. In this program, you’ll live on the campus in a serene and therapeutic environment while you get treatment through individual and group therapy. You’ll have educational sessions to learn about addiction and how it has affected your body. You’ll develop relapse prevention skills and other life skills for long term recovery.
Most of the therapy here is based on acceptance and commitment therapy or ACT. But they also have therapeutic and fun outings regularly like trips to the park as well as hikes and holiday events. Throughout your program, they’ll provide case management to help you plan your recovery and connect with the resources you’ll need. They’ll also coordinate your medical care and psychiatric needs alongside your addiction treatment.
Other than residential treatment, the other treatment they have here is outpatient addiction recovery. This program is mostly focused on group therapy to help you work through the challenges that come up throughout recovery, while also sharing support with your peers. These groups are in the evenings, but they also have group therapy for various formats and needs. For example, they have dual diagnosis groups and meditation groups as well as exercise groups and groups for developing life skills.
While some clients report difficulty in reaching staff on the phone, many clients rave about the therapists. They say the counselors are knowledgeable and respectful professionals who have changed their lives for the better.
