About The Healing Place – Campbellsville
The Healing Place in Kentucky provides food, clothing, shelter and addiction recovery programs to almost 1000 people each day. Their services are free to participants to remove as many barriers to recovery as possible. Their programs are first come, first served.
The Campbellsville Campus for Men offers residential alcohol and drug treatment, transitional housing and safe of the streets programs. They have 100 beds for long-term stays. The first stage is social detox to stabilize you from drugs and alcohol.
The Healing Place follows the social model for recovery and focuses on the 12 steps philosophy. Most people stay in the program for 6-9 months but it varies per person.
Their residential program focuses on personal accountability and changing behavior. Once you’ve completed the residential program, you’ll step down into transitional living. Most clients use this program for about 3 months.
I like that you have the option of staying on as a peer mentor volunteer after you graduate. You’ll help teach classes and be role models for new members. If you want to continue to live on the property without being a mentor, you can pay a small fee while you find work. Staff can help you navigate the transition with finding housing, work, and dealing with legal and medical systems.
