When you come in for your assessment, you should bring all the clothes you will need for a five day stay including pajamas. You will not be allowed to bring electronics to treatment.
The intake specialist that you meet with will need to know your medical history, and they will need a list of all the medications you currently take. You will be given a drug test to determine if you qualify for inpatient treatment or if you should attend a partial hospitalization program (PHP). The PHP lets you go in for treatment during the day and go home at night.
If you need to detox, they have an around the clock medical staff that will monitor you constantly. They can prescribe medication if you need it to detox safely and comfortably.
People with dual diagnosis are often treated with dialectical behavior therapy which trains people to accept their reality and to change their attitude towards it. They also use experimental and recreational therapy. You may also engage in art or dance therapy while you are there. They also offer family therapy for people whose loved ones have been affected by their addiction. They even host some 12 Step meetings.
