About The Jewish Board’s Brooklyn Counseling Center HCBS – Gravesend
The Jewish Board has been around for over 150 years. Their Brooklyn Connected Care used to be called The Seymour Askin Counseling Center. It’s an outpatient center in Brooklyn, New York. They have holistic programs to treat mental and behavioral health disorders, including drug issues, among adults, teens and children.
At their center, you’ll participate in counseling in group and individual settings. There are peer support programs, classes where you can learn new life skills, and you’ll get to understand your health better. That way, you’ll find new ways of coping with stress and anger. If you’re active duty military or a vet, they’ll have a special track that can address any trauma you’ve experienced.
They’re able to connect you to social services that cover basic necessities, like housing. They can also provide referrals to other clinics and centers that can provide you with more structured care. There are separate programs for children, families, and folks with disabilities, and programs that emphasize clinical services.
