The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center or ARC is located in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s a residential work therapy program for men battling substance abuse. They look to provide spiritual, social and emotional help for people who are having problems supporting themselves and unable to cope with everyday life.
At ARC you have a structured environment run by a professional staff and volunteers. You’ll also get job experience that will help you find gainful employment when you return to daily life after rehab. One of the main goals at the Salvation Army ARC is to help residents regain and rebuild relationships with their families and resume a normal life after rehabilitation.
To be eligible for the program you need to have an intake interview session to find out if it’s a good fit for you. If for some reason it’s not they’ll try and refer you somewhere that’s better for your needs.
To meet the criteria of the program you need to be between the ages of 21 and 65, provide an official ID with a photo, and have at least a 30 day supply of all of your medication which doesn’t include controlled drugs or narcotics and be able to pass a breathalyzer. They require a six month commitment to the program so you can learn to break bad habits and replace poor decision making patterns with positive choices.
Other criteria include not being diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorders and not being a registered sex offender. You’ll also need to be able to perform work for eight hours per day and attend classes and worship services while you’re there.
