About The Schwartz Center, a New Vista Residential Substance Use Program – Lexington
The Schwartz Center is an addiction treatment program offered through the New Vista facility in Lexington, Kentucky. They provide residential services for adults who want to overcome their addictions and find a healthier way to live. They accept Medicaid and have a sliding scale of fees for those without insurance.
The program lasts for 28 days and includes separate living spaces for men and women. There are 14 beds in the men’s unit and 10 beds in the women’s unit.
While you’re here, you’ll follow a daily schedule that includes individual and group counseling, educational programs, community meetings, and peer support groups. They’ll also introduce you to local 12 step recovery groups that meet nearby. If you need to leave the campus to go to a medical appointment or attend a court session, they’ll provide the transportation.
Their goal is to give you the tools and knowledge you need to achieve lasting sobriety. They offer group activities that help you learn more about addiction and develop the life skills you need to cope on your own without drugs or alcohol. Something I really like about this facility is that they don’t leave you hanging after you’ve finished your residential treatment. They can help you connect with other programs within the New Vista network, including outpatient services.
One former participant reflects that the staff members here are good hearted and truly want you to get well.
