About The Transition House, Inc. – Residential Program – Starke
The Transition House is a drug and rehab center for adult men. They’re located in Starke, Florida. Here, you can find residential and outpatient services to help you overcome mental health and addiction related challenges.
I find that this facility is unique because it provides many different levels of care. You can participate in their residential program, personal coaching program, or intensive outpatient services. Before you start, the team will evaluate your current condition to determine which treatment plan will work best for you. You might start out in outpatient care, or you may need to go through their residential program first.
In the residential unit, you’ll work through the ins and outs of your addiction. You’ll attend counseling sessions to understand your condition, identify your triggers, and learn how to swap them for healthier habits. You’ll stay in the program for 90 days. It includes about 20 hours of counseling each week.
Your assigned counselor will conduct your sessions. However, you can also talk to an on site psychiatrist if you need to. This expert can help you address underlying mental health conditions that you might be experiencing on top of addiction, like anxiety. I like that they offer this service because addiction can be a mental, physical, and emotional condition.
Once you’re ready to leave the program, they’ll connect you with resources to support your recovery journey. For example, they may introduce you to career counselors so you can earn an income when you’re out on your own. If you need sober housing after you exit the program, they can contact local agencies to see what’s available.
One person who’s been through the program said it helped him create a new version of himself. However, others say the team isn’t prompt and needs to be more professional.
