About THS – Therapeutic Health Services – Seneca Branch – Seattle

Since 1972, THS – Therapeutic Health Services has been offering mental health and substance use treatment in Seattle, Washington. CARF accredited, they’re the largest nonprofit provider of medication assisted treatment (MAT) in the region. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE and AppleHealth, and they take walk ins. They’re also LGBTQ+ inclusive.

The Seneca location offers MAT with methadone and Suboxone, adult outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services, mental health services and various programs to combat drug and alcohol issues. They have a dedicated veteran’s outreach program, in which Veteran’s Outreach Specialists connect veterans to earned benefits such as behavioral health services through the VA or at their own facility. The Pregnant and Parenting program helps mothers and families move beyond substance use challenges. They also offer primary care, prevention and education programs, DUI programs and drug court.

The King County Drug Court has been working directly with the courts to break the cycle of substance use and criminality since its establishment in 1994. Eligible defendants can opt to receive drug treatment rather than going to trial.

Addressing the many issues that contribute to relapse, the program takes up to two years to complete. It involves elements such as case management, life skills training, education services, social activities and community reintegration. There are random drug tests twice a week and weekly meetings with both counselors and social support groups. Community service is also part of the program, and participants must be either employed or in school in order to graduate.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
