About Touchstones – Orange
Located in Orange, California, the Arrow House is an addiction treatment center for adolescents. It was formerly known as Touchstones. They treat substance use and provide dual diagnosis care for those who also have mental health concerns. All services are provided through their residential treatment center, which is located near Angel Stadium.
My favorite part about this center is that they focus on curbing dangerous substance use before it becomes a long term problem. The team acknowledges that a child’s brain is still developing, and it’s crucial to intervene immediately when addiction is suspected. While many similar facilities treat adults and teenagers alike, I appreciate that this program is only dedicated to youth ages 13 to 17. That way, the providers can give more individualized care. There’s even an on site school designed to help clients keep up with their studies.
The program lasts for a minimum of 30 days, but I suspect that most clients will want to stay much longer once they discover how comfortable and well appointed the semi private rooms are. Furnishings are minimalistic and modern, giving each room a relaxing and streamlined feel.
Various therapies are incorporated into the residential treatment program, which can accommodate up to 20 co ed clients at one time. These include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and others. There are also group and family counseling sessions available, as well as holistic programs such as equine therapy, yoga, and various recreational activities.
Clients love the treatment they receive and the long term connections they make through this program. Parents have left reviews stating that the facility gave them their children back and that this program worked when no others had.
