About Trace Regional Hospital – Houston
Trace Regional Hospital in Houston, Mississippi, was bought by Progressive Health in 2023 which has expanded the services they offer at the 1002 East Madison Street facility. These services include an Emergency Room with medical and mental health services. They also run an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse. There are just over 200 psychiatry hospital beds for inpatient treatment when needed.
Prior to the rebranding in 2023, Trace Regional was known for its services in geriatrics and dementia care. They still have many programs and services geared specifically toward the elderly. This includes physical health care, dementia care, mental health care and addiction treatment.
Many of the services provided and treatment programs offered are covered by state, federal and private health insurance plans. There are also self-pay options for those without insurance. No patient will be turned away due to financial or life circumstances.
For those who don’t need or want an inpatient treatment program, maybe because they still have to work or there is no one at home to take care of things, then there is an intensive outpatient program. This program gives an intensive therapy schedule that provides support every day but also allows patients to go home in the evening and take care of the things and people that require their attention in life.
There are programs and treatment groups here for all adults, from young adults to seniors. They are LGBTQ+ friendly, and they treat individuals with dual diagnosis.
Their treatment program includes cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy and activity therapy in combination with psychotropic medications. The unit maintains medical and psychological services including social work services, occupational therapy and recreational therapy. Patients can be assessed in the emergency room, through one of the clinics, in an outpatient health service program, or by referral from their primary health care provider.
