About Turning Point At Washington – Washington
Turning Point Washington is a women’s only drug rehab center in Washington, Pennsylvania. It has a home-like setting with shared bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and common area. Each person beginning the program receives a personalized treatment plan, which can change over the course of treatment as needed.
They have a safe housing area where you can have supportive housing and not need to worry about where you’re going to sleep at night. The hope is that without this worry someone is able to fully engage in recovery. They can help you get a job and provide parents’ with special courses and information resources.
They have a structured routine and it means people have to be responsible and accountable for themselves and their actions. They try to build responsibility in many ways and teach life skills to people, such as financial literacy, emotion regulation, cooking, housework/cleaning, and support transitioning to independent living.
Throughout your program you’ll have treatments like individual therapy and group therapy with a 12 step approach. The treatment center is only for women, and is mindful of trauma by using a trauma informed style of treatment.
They not only help people get sober and stay away from drugs, they also help someone with integrating back into society while still maintaining sobriety. Your insurance might cover your stay here.
I’m impressed by how many different therapeutic activities they have here. Cooking classes, art therapy, equine (horse) therapy, and sewing lessons are all unique therapies that stand out from other facilities. There is truly an overarching collection of ways to be creative. They have the Kaleidoscope II shop where their own artist collective puts together a series of prints and other artwork that they have worked on with others.
