About UF Health Florida Recovery Center – Gainesville
UF Health Florida Recovery Center is in the Florida city of Gainesville. It’s a substance use disorder treatment facility operated by the University of Florida. They’re staffed with addiction medicine specialists that include licensed behavioral health counselors and psychiatrists.
Clients struggling with addiction can receive psychological testing, medical consultations and comprehensive labs. The levels of care offered include inpatient alcohol and drug detox and the partial hospitalization program.
The partial hospitalization program provides clients with addiction treatment seven days a week. While PHP is typically an outpatient program, at this facility, you’ll be allowed to stay in a living area on campus and be expected to maintain it as your own home.
You’ll practice living skills such as cooking and shopping along with participating in new leisure and recreational activities. The campus has a swimming pool, a basketball court, a pickleback court, and other outdoor options. Some unique attractions that can be enjoyed in Gainesville include visiting the Florida Museum and or going to Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.
Your treatment will consist of a mixture of evidence based therapies and holistic therapies. Counselors use approaches such as dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to teach clients how to regulate their emotions and change negative beliefs that hinder their recovery. Along with those therapies, your treatment may also include morning medication and life skills groups.
This facility has 18 licensed hospital beds available. Clients struggling with withdrawal symptoms can receive medically supervised drug or alcohol detox. You’ll be monitored by physicians, addiction therapists and nurses who will provide you with behavioral and medication therapies for a safe detox.
