About Uncle Dave’s Transitional Sober Living Home – Pasadena
Uncle Dave’s Transitional Sober Living Home is a safe and affordable recovery housing option for men in the Pasadena, California, area. They’ve been operational since 2010. They provide stable, transitional sober living homes for people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, who are on probation or who are in addiction recovery.
You can request a gendered house or a gendered room. They have eight locations in the area each with its own house manager.
Uncle Dave’s follows the housing first model. Their homes are newly constructed, are kept clean and feature quality furnishings. They also offer a range of supportive services, resources and referrals so that all residents can achieve their goals. The homes are generally a five minute walk or less to public transit.
Some past residents raved about the comfortable, clean accommodations and excellent supportive peers and staff. Others have expressed concerns about the condition of the homes.
Uncle Dave’s homes offer all the amenities that make it feel like home. They include fresh linens and towels, smart TVs, high-speed internet, kitchenware, house computers and laundry machines.
Each home has a live-in house manager that volunteers to help new residents acclimate to their new living space. I like that house managers were residents first, so they really know what it’s like. These managers can help you find a job, apply for government benefits and mentor you as you move forward.
