About Upac New Leaf Recovery Center – San Diego
UPAC Expanding Horizons is part of the UPAC nonprofit organization in San Diego, California, that offers outpatient addiction treatment services. Expanding Horizons is one of the newest programs at this facility. It’s the first outpatient substance use disorder treatment program designed only for transition aged youth in San Diego. Adults who are 18 to 29 years old can receive recovery services that are specific to their needs. UPAC is short for Union of Pan Asian Communities, and their staff can provide treatment to individuals in over 20 different languages.
The services offered in Expanding Horizons include group counseling, individual counseling and case management. They also provide artistic expression groups weekly to help promote healing. Peer support specialists are also available to help guide you toward achieving your recovery goals. In addition to these services, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is provided. The types of medication that clinicians might prescribe to you include methadone, naltrexone, Brixadi and buprenorphine. These medications decrease cravings so you’re less likely to use substances. The staff members take special care to make sure these medications don’t cause a “high.” Staff also strive to make their care gender specific, trauma informed and family centered.
Their program services are available to individuals within the age range who have no insurance. With care made affordable, you have more funds to enjoy attractions across the city such as the San Diego Zoo and Belmont Park. As you’re going through recovery, you can enjoy all that San Diego has to offer, from warm weather to parks, beaches and attractions.
