VA North May VA Clinic offers outpatient treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders for veterans and their families. They’re located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is an outpatient facility. You may visit this facility with or without an appointment.
Treatment is provided for substance abuse as well as mental health conditions such as anxiety, trauma, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. This facility offers medical care as well if needed. The primary care doctors here will treat the veteran’s family as well as the veteran.
If you require detox services or a more intensive recovery service then you may be referred to another location or facility. Here, they help you to set up a program to help you reach your goals. They use evidence based treatments and provide health maintenance and community support.
They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) as needed for opioid use, alcohol use and tobacco use. These medications are to help with your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Residential rehabilitation treatment programs may be available as needed.
They also offer counseling services. They want to help your recovery along by addressing the root problem that made you turn to substances to begin with. They also assist you with homelessness and unemployment, if needed.
If you’re unable to attend therapy in person then they offer telehealth services and appointments.
Several clients have said that this is a very clean VA and that the front desk staff is amazing and caring. The front staff has also been said to be very efficient at their job.
