About Valley Rescue Mission – Columbus
Valley Rescue Mission Columbus is a faith based charitable organization for men, women and children located in Columbus, Georgia. They provide many different community services including food assistance, ministry outreach and housing shelters. They also offer residential addiction treatment programs for men and women who are struggling with chemical dependency. Their services are available free of charge.
Valley Rescue Mission is a Christ centered addiction recovery center. It is found in Columbus, GA, and offers free treatment to men and women in gender specific treatment programs. Whether you join the men’s or women’s residential treatment program, you should expect your length of stay to vary between 9 to 12 months after an initial 90 day evaluation period.
During the men’s residential treatment program you can expect to attend chapel services and enjoy daily Bible devotions as well as attend addiction recovery classes and participate in Bible studies. In addition during this residential treatment program, you will learn how to rebuild relationships and develop discipline as well as regain self esteem.
The men’s residential program also has optional aftercare, known as phase three in the center’s treatment program. This program will help you transition back into society and teach you how to set and stick to goals, alongside learning accountability and how to mentor.
The women’s residential treatment program is similar to the men’s. Women build self esteem and discover the worthiness of God’s love. They also learn self discipline and how to create better relationships with friends and family as well as society.
This residential program for women also offers three phases. Phases one and two are focused on helping women embrace that anything is possible through Christ. You can expect to attend addiction recovery classes and engage in Biblical studies and also attend work therapy for four hours daily. This therapy helps you learn interview skills and resume writing and apply for jobs. The third phase is a three month aftercare program. Many have found this beneficial in their recovery journey as it has helped cement their sobriety through Christ.
