About Vista Taos – Renewal Center Casa Feliz – Taos

Casa Feliz, which is a part of the Vista Taos Renewal Center, is a men’s extended care program in Taos, New Mexico. It’s a longer term recovery center where clients can get a chance to use their new recovery tools as they stay focused on their long term healing from addiction.

The program provides numerous amenities for clients, including semi private rooms, three daily meals and membership at a spa and health club. Clients will also get access to therapy and weekly spiritual outings around town. Vista Taos Renewal Center is committed to providing patients with a caring and supportive environment to overcome addiction using best practices.

The goal of the extended care program is to get patients prepared to reintegrate back into their community, their family, and into the workplace. The time that clients will stay in this program can be as little as one month or as much as 12 months depending on individual needs. Patients can begin this program after they’ve completed Vista Taos Renewal Center’s primary treatment program or a similar intervention where the patient was able to achieve four to six weeks of sobriety.

The services that will be a part of the program are individual and group therapy, educational groups, and therapeutic activities and outings. Clients will also participate in work, education and volunteer opportunities as well as 12 step meetings. The facility desires for this program to give patients a chance to re engage with their passions and interests in life. Sponsors and mentors will be available to guide clients throughout the process.

You can tell they place a great emphasis on holistic healing. They incorporate Native American practices into their programs, and their center’s atmosphere conveys a heavy Spanish influence. It’s a great complement to the natural desert landscapes and serene environment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

12-Step

12 step programs such as Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous are support group style programs for individuals who are experiencing alcohol or substance use disorder. At Evoke they use a holistic model of addiction care that includes using 12 step programs. These programs are an integral part of most relapse prevention plans and provide continued support and accountability that support sobriety.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Outpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
