Volunteer Behavioral Health Center is an outpatient substance use disorder and mental health treatment center for adolescents and adults that is located in Smyrna, Tennessee. They provide a crisis line 24/7 and can perform your appointments through telehealth. This center is accredited by CARF and the Tennessee State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

This center has a No Wrong Door/Same Day Access Approach that can get you the services you need within 24 hours of calling their intake line. They want to provide you with the services you need as soon as you need them.

This center offers a comprehensive substance use treatment and recovery services program that includes outpatient therapy and counseling. While in the treatment program, you will participate in individual, group, and family counseling. Family counseling is especially helpful if you are seeking treatment for your teenager.

They offer an intensive outpatient therapy program that lasts for 12 weeks. While in this program, you will attend three hour sessions three times a week. These sessions take place in a group therapy format. Upon completing this program, you will receive a certificate, but it is highly recommended that you continue with a step down of therapy or in an aftercare support group.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Outpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
