About Volunteers of America – Amigos Sobrios – San Diego
Located in San Diego, California, Volunteers of America Amigos Sobrios is a 17-bed residential alcohol and drug rehab program for individuals struggling with addiction. They also provide dual diagnosis treatment and detoxification support. Services are in English and Spanish.
The residential program begins with detoxification if a person is currently under the influence of chemical substances. This process is overseen by staff to provide as much comfort as possible. Individual therapy, group therapy, holistic therapies, and evidence-based treatment interventions are utilized throughout the treatment program. The goal of the residential program is to support individuals through a culturally sensitive, highly structured program that creates stability, a strong foundation for outpatient treatment, and the ability for a person to understand their areas of challenge. Clients learn new coping skills and more effective ways to handle life pressures than they may have been used to in the past.
Once a person has completed the residential treatment program, they are encouraged to continue into an outpatient level of care to actively participate in the recovery on an ongoing basis. Individuals may choose to engage in a wide variety of outpatient services, all falling under the umbrella of aftercare as it relates to residential treatment.
Volunteers of America Amigos Sobrios invite individuals to contact them to discuss treatment costs and insurance. If a person is interested in using their insurance for any type of treatment, they are encouraged to contact the insurance carrier before starting treatment. This is because out-of-network benefits may vary.
