About W House Inc – Hagerstown
Wells House is nestled in Hagerstown, a city in western Maryland. They provide evidence-based residential and outpatient alcohol and substance use disorder treatment for adult men and women.
During their stay in residential care, individuals participate in a structured program that includes client-centered individual and group therapy using therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and problem-solving strategies.
Each individual works with their addictions team to create a treatment plan that focuses on their areas of need, with the goal of relapse prevention and long-term sobriety. On average, one can expect to remain in residential care at Wells House for four to six months.
Wells House offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Participants attend group sessions four times per week. They offer morning, afternoon and evening programs for those who need flexibility due to family or employment obligations.
During IOP, a focus is placed on developing healthy coping skills, anger management, relapse prevention education, and how to identify and cope with triggers, all while continuing to work on their own unique individual treatment goals. The length of stay for most individuals in Wells House IOP is between 60 and 120 days.
They also offer case management for those who need help with meeting basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, medical care, employment and education. For individuals without a high school diploma, Wells House offers a program for those wishing to complete their GED on site.
Wells House accepts Maryland Medicaid or Aetna Insurance and private pay and will accept individuals without health insurance. They are a CARF-accredited provider.
