About Waypoint Ministry – Dahlonega
The Waypoint Ministry is a nonprofit Christian residential program for men located in Dahlonega, Georgia. It helps clients face and overcome addiction issues. Founded in 2005, this facility is licensed by the state of Georgia and certified by the Transitional Housing for Offender Reentry (THOR) program. Offering affordable program fees, payment plans, and scholarships, they’ve made it their mission to combine the clinical side of recovery with a faith based environment.
Upon successful completion of their residential services, qualifying men will have the opportunity to take part in their Servant Leadership Training Phase (SLT), a program for those who choose to answer the call to ministry rather than immediately return to their daily lives.
Recognizing the role that family plays in addiction recovery, they offer family support services during all 12 months of treatment. Peer groups teach life skills designed to bring about lasting change for everyone. After 30 days in the program, family visits can be scheduled. A Family Participation Guide is available on their website
Situated in the mountains of North Georgia, Dahlonega is a haven for nature lovers. Explore the Chattahoochee National Forest by hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding, or travel down the Chestatee or Etowah rivers in a kayak, innertube, or canoe.
Desoto and Raven Cliff Falls are just two of the many picturesque waterfalls in the area. If it’s fishing you enjoy, the Yahoola Creek offers world class trout fishing all year long. And, after a day spent investigating the Consolidated or Crisson Gold Mines, recreational gold panning is encouraged in most local streambeds.
