About Wayside House – Delray Beach
Wayside House is a nonprofit mental health, drug, and alcohol rehabilitation center for women in Delray Beach, Florida. The center was founded by the great niece and namesake of the women’s suffragist, Susan B. Anthony, in 1974.
They accept insurance from many of the major insurance companies. They also take Medicaid, and Seminole Tribe insurance. If the center is out of network for your insurance, the staff will work with your company to get the most out of your benefits.
Inpatient treatment may be 15, 30, 90 days or longer. During the program, you’ll stay there full time. You’ll participate in many types of classes including parenting, nutrition education, yoga, art, and mindfulness. They also help with eating disorders. You’ll work on identifying what trauma may have led to your substance use.
With the help of your counselors, you’ll work on treating your whole person, not only the substance use. It’s not uncommon for substance use to be a coping mechanism to deal with co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression or anxiety. Once you understand what drives your substance misuse, it’s easier to figure out what your triggers are so you can maintain your sobriety.
The center offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that’s a bridge between inpatient and outpatient services. If you can’t commit to inpatient treatment or you need a structured program after finishing an inpatient program, you can move to the PHP. The program runs 30-45 days for six hours per day, Monday through Friday. There are supervised apartments available for $250 per day which some insurance will cover.
There’s an intensive outpatient program (IOP) available as well. This is a 24-session program spread out over eight weeks. It offers a support system for keeping you on the path to sobriety.
If you’re looking for a regular outpatient program, they have that, too. The program varies in length but you’ll revisit your treatment plan every 30 days to see your progress toward your goals. Relapse prevention is the main focus of the program. You’ll learn new ways of coping with challenges to avoid relapsing.
