About We Care Foundation – Las Vegas
The We Care Foundation has a nonprofit transitional sober living house, the We Care House, at 2216 South 6th Street in Las Vegas, Nevada. The house is for women who are 18 and older and gives them a place where they can receive substance use treatment and support to maintain a sober lifestyle. The program takes self payment.
While Las Vegas is famous for gambling, there are many other activities available that don’t include casinos. There are biking, hiking, and recreation areas, including the Lake Mead Recreation Area only 30 miles from the sober living home.
The We Care House is a 30 day program for the treatment of addiction. During treatment, clients participate in individual and group counseling as well as educational programs about substance use disorder (SUD).
Clients work on their mental health to get to the heart of their substance use. Treatment approaches include anger management, relapse prevention, and SUD counseling. Once clients discover the underlying issues contributing to substance use, it’s easier to manage the disease.
While in the program, clients are introduced to the 12 Step model of recovery. The house facilitates 12 step group meetings.
There are a couple of specialty services for women at the house. They accept clients with traumatic histories, which is common in women with substance use issues. Additionally, they accept clients with involvement in the criminal justice system other than DUI/DWI offenses.
There are aftercare and discharge planning services. Clients also have outcome followup after discharge to ensure they’re maintaining their sobriety.
