The services that will be provided to adolescents include a 12 week program, education sessions for parents, and home visits. Counselors on staff will focus on common issues that cause addiction in teens such as peer pressure and social media. Your loved one will be encouraged to find alternative activities to engage in for fun other than using substances.
The adult substance use disorder program will also last for 12 weeks and you’ll be participating in individual counseling sessions. Your counselor will explore the causes of your addiction and help you to identify your triggers.
They may use evidence based therapeutic approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy and motivational interviewing. They’ll teach you methods such as mindfulness to help you reduce your stress and decrease your chances of relapsing. In addition to the adult outpatient program, the facility also offers a specialized addiction treatment program for women.
A unique thing about Wellness Pointe’s location is that it’s just an hour away from Shreveport, Louisiana. In between your treatment sessions, you can take a trip to the city and visit places such as the American Rose Center and the Shreveport Aquarium. You can also enjoy restaurants and a cinema at the Louisiana Boardwalk.
