Nicknamed “Little Norway” for its rich Scandinavian heritage, Poulsbo, Washington features the West Sound Treatment Center. This outpatient facility provides affordable addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment for voluntary and court ordered adults. You can access multiple specialized programs and services to meet you where you are in recovery.
Their intensive outpatient program provides at least ten hours of weekly sessions. You’ll benefit from a customized treatment plan with your recovery goals at the forefront. Whether you prefer night sessions or want to participate in treatment from the comfort of your home they strive to accommodate your needs. You can access individual and group sessions, relapse prevention training, medication assisted treatment, 12 step groups and more.
For me, their services for people in the criminal justice system really stood out. If you’re facing criminal prosecution or certain felonies then you can participate in Drug Court. They recognize that treatment is often more beneficial than incarceration for many. You’ll benefit from an alternative to prosecution with intensive supervision, frequent court appearances and random alcohol and drug testing.
I also think their New Start & Reentry Program is fantastic. They welcome those previously or currently incarcerated in Kitsap County Jail or residing in Kitsap County after prison. You can access integrated treatment and re-entry coordination with support services. If you meet eligibility requirements then they connect you with continuing care, supportive housing and vocational services for up to nine months.
Their supportive housing liaison services also caught my eye. You can access multiple resources through their vast network of partnerships throughout Kitsap County. They ensure you have whatever you need to succeed in recovery including resources for mental health, harm reduction, housing, transportation and more.
