About West Valley – Glendale
West Valley is a drug and alcohol rehab and counseling center in Glendale, Arizona. They offer an intensive outpatient program and mental health care for adolescents aged 12 through 18.
West Valley’s intensive outpatient program follows the Adolescent Substance Abuse Program model (ASAP). This is a 10-week program that consists of 30 group sessions, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, stages of change theory, and relapse prevention. ASAP uses six sobriety rules: test clean, commit to sobriety, end associations with using friends, develop a new identity, develop a new sober lifestyle, and complete critical ASAP work. Emotional processing is a component of group therapy, where clients focus on emotional recovery. They work through their life experiences and emotions that have kept them down or led them to use substances to self-medicate.
