About Wheeler Clinic – Russell Street – New Britain
In New Britain Connecticut, Wheeler Clinic provides programs for addiction and mental health treatment to patients of all ages. LGBTQIA responsive services are included. To address addiction related issues they provide family, group, and individual therapy. Adults can receive their medication assisted treatment for addiction as part of a comprehensive program for treating alcohol and opioid addiction. Third party payers, commercial insurance, and Medicaid are all accepted. A sliding fee scale is in place in compliance with their policy to modify costs according to a patient’s financial situation.
They provide an outpatient Bettor Choice Gambling Treatment Program for problem gamblers and those impacted by a loved ones gambling addiction. Their PROUD program provides services to expectant mothers and postpartum moms who have a child under one year old and active substance use concerns.
Physical and mental health assessments, education and referrals are provided for participants, their children and other family members. Recovery coaching, prenatal health, parenting education and additional support as well as connections to community and social services are also provided.
Seniors who participate in their senior outreach and engagement program can receive case management, outreach, education, assessment and referral services. The program helps isolated senior citizens with mental health issues and substance abuse issues.
Men with drug use disorders can benefit from their transitional case management program as they prepare to leave prison and reintegrate into society. The Connecticut Department of Correction is the exclusive source of referrals for this program. People can’t refer to themselves.
Their women’s REACH program is sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and aims to offer resources for recovery engagement, short term case management and outreach. This program offers services to pregnant and parenting women with co-occurring disorders or substance use as well as their partners and other immediate family members who have been impacted by substance use either directly or through the parent’s use.
