About White Horse Ranch – Santa Fe – Santa Fe
White Horse Ranch is an addiction treatment and mental health facility in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They provide residential and outpatient addiction treatment and mental health care. All programs use an equine assisted psychotherapy model. They treat adolescent girls aged 12 through 17.
The program lasts a minimum of 90 days, but some residents stay between six and nine months. There are four levels of care with each level lasting 30 days. Level one is known as the gray level where the girls will come to a sense of ambiguity with their risky behaviors and anger. During this level, they learn new coping and communication skills. Level two is the brown level where the girls are encouraged to go to the foundation of their emotions and find new interpretations of their life events. Level three is the green level where a new transformation emerges. The final level is the blue level where a continuation of growth and maturity exists.
Former clients of White Horse Ranch said the program is physical and labor intensive. They also said that the program left them with ongoing trauma. Other former clients and their parents say this program is valuable and helps their children recover.
