About Wise Enterprise – Richmond
Located in Richmond, Virginia is WISE Enterprise Inc. This organization is on a mission to help empower children and their families to reach their full potential. If your child is struggling with mental health or is at risk for or experiencing substance use struggles, WISE Enterprise programming can help. There’s targeted counseling and wrap around support for families as well. Crisis stabilization services are also offered here.
There’s a strong focus on community building here. WISE partners with the school system to provide in school or after school treatment as well as dedicated mental health and crisis support services. With strong community support, children have a network they can turn to when they need it most.
Through these services, your child’s mental health or substance use troubles are addressed head on. Meanwhile, ongoing counseling therapy sessions can help children build relevant recovery skills. This might include learning how to identify triggers, what to do when complex emotions arise, and how to seek out support when your child finds themselves in a circumstance that may lead to a mental health episode or substance use.
They also have support services for families including primary caregivers. This support generally comes in the form of counseling as well.
The support services here are designed to meet your lifestyle needs. Children can receive counseling and therapy in the school setting, after school, or in their home. At school, your child will have a counselor who will check in with them regularly throughout the school day. Meanwhile, after school programs include transportation to the WISE Center where more targeted therapy can happen
WISE advocates are made up of professional staff members who have an academic degree. They also have what’s known as a WISE Principle. These are professionals who have a terminal degree from a higher education Institution. WISE Principles have also worked in an academic setting and have experience helping support at risk children and those whose behavioral health struggles have impacted their academic or daily lives.
