About YWCA of Fort Dodge – Center for Life Empowerment – Fort Dodge
The YMCA of Fort Dodge is a substance abuse treatment facility in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Single women and women with children can seek substance recovery at this three story facility. They accept insurance as well as Medicaid.
The length of the program is 90 days. Your first 25 to 38 days will be in residential treatment. Most of your time will be spent in individual and group counseling. You’ll also learn relapse prevention and life skills to recognize your triggers. They will provide you with three meals per day. You will also have access to snacks at designated times. There is a laundry facility and you’ll have access to the gym.
Once you have completed your residential stay then you’ll complete your treatment in the halfway house. During your time in the halfway house, you’ll be able to seek employment, seek volunteer work, attend community meetings and take weekend passes for time outside the facility. At this time, your group and individual therapy sessions will decrease.
If you are a mother then your child will be able to stay with you at any time. They do have to be 12 years of age and younger. If your child is over the age of 12 then they will not be able to stay with you but they will be able to visit you upon approval. Due to their admission process and the possibility of withdrawal, your child will not be able to join you in treatment the first 24 to 48 hours.
Aside from residential treatment and the halfway house, other treatments are also offered. Women are also able to attend intensive outpatient treatment. Men are able to undergo an evaluation and participate in their extended outpatient level of care.
