Aiken Center is a facility in Aiken, South Carolina, that provides substance abuse recovery services for adolescents and adults. Their goal is to help clients return to healthy living by focusing on treatment, recovery support and prevention.
The adolescent outpatient program helps individuals who are between the ages of 12 and 18. Adolescents who are under the age of 15 will need to have a parent attend the first appointment in order to be admitted for treatment.
I like how the Aiken Center also provides the community with access to Naloxone free of charge. Naloxone is a medication that’s designed to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. In case relapse does occur, you’ll know how to respond to a potential overdose.
Every client will get a personalized plan that helps them to have long term recovery. In an effort to accommodate different schedules, they provide day and evening services. When patients work with counselors at the facility, they can expect to receive non judgemental treatment that allows them to feel safe and supported. If clients are unable to attend their treatments in person, Aiken Center has telehealth appointments available for specific services.
The programs offered at this facility include outpatient, intensive outpatient and women’s intensive outpatient. Clients in the intensive outpatient program will need to be at the facility for a minimum of nine hours a week.
This includes three days of group sessions, spending three hours in each group a week. Additional treatments a part of this program include individual sessions, life skills development and family support. Counselors will mainly focus on identifying the challenges of recovery and building coping skills that can be used to address those challenges.
When clients complete the program, they can continue receiving services in the recovery management program. Patients will meet with a peer support specialist and a counselor to continue developing a recovery plan that focuses on overall wellness.
