Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous is a program of recovery that helps adults overcome alcohol use disorder and substance use disorders. Their 12-step program involves regular recovery meetings during which members share their experiences. The program involves working with a sponsor — who is another person in recovery that has completed the 12 steps. Anyone can attend, the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. Meetings are available throughout the day, seven days a week. Members also volunteer their time to run meetings.
