Arthur Center Community Health – Mexico is a full service health clinic in Mexico, Missouri, that provides outpatient treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions. They also provide around-the-clock crisis intervention services for adults. A qualified mental health professional is available to assist you with any emergency mental health care needed. They accept some major insurance policies and offer sliding scale fees when you qualify. They also accept donations to help maintain the highest quality of care possible for community residents.
All patients who receive primary care and behavioral health services are screened as part of their regular visits to determine if they need substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. You can also refer yourself or your primary care physician can refer you.
Within the treatment program, you receive individual and group therapy and counseling including evidence-based treatment options. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorders and other substance use disorders.
A MAT program can be used to help reduce the effects of withdrawal symptoms and on an ongoing basis to reduce cravings and the potential for relapse. The counselors at this facility work closely with their medical staff to support and assist you during withdrawal. Some medications that are used during MAT include naltrexone, acamprosate, and Suboxone, which is a combination drug of buprenorphine and naloxone.
If you need more intensive treatment then they may refer you to their nearby HOPE Center. This is a 16 bed transitional psychiatric group home for clients with complex mental health conditions and co-occurring conditions, including SUD, to help them integrate back into the community.
